Born in France in 1957, Georges Rossi is an artist who creates these lovely fractured, vulnerable oil/goauche paintings of animals on a wide range of media which are incredibly emotive and intense.
Sean Briggs
Sean Briggs focuses mainly on British wildlife and landscapes. I’m most interested in the way he lays down a graphite drawing before applying his watercolour, as his watercolours in particular have this lovely dreamy quality.
Jennifer Kraska
I’ve been waiting for this artist to update her Flickr page and to my surprise she has more that I can show you! Jenn Kraska is a hobbyist watercolourist, dabbling in painting at night, her work is soft, watery and beautiful.
Inked Animal
Inked Animal is a project to create lasting impressions of dead animals. The process involves taking real dead animals and painting them with inks, paints and clays then pressing paper against them to create these images. The prints are often worked into to give more definition and detail and I find them challenging, but gorgeous!
George Boorujy
I love how unsettling George Boorujy’s hyper-realistic depictions of animals are, painted in ink on paper they are stunningly beautiful, painstakingly detailed and of course uncomfortably confrontational.
